Stolen = self-explanatory. What makes a sample 'stolen'? The purpose of this black market type sample designation is to isolate and disclaim any loop or sample that exists here as it is on whatever record it was lifted from. For example, if I take a snare hit from, say, Pantera with the intent to use it in the same application (aka a SNARE HIT) and not mangle it / change it in any capacity, it is "stolen". In the world of sampling, there is an ettiquette to procuring and utilizing sampled materials. As I'm just starting to delve into looping, I'm hearing some inspiring examples from many different places that I'd like to hone as well. If I were to take a bass riff from Fear Factory and reverse it (transforming it into a new entity), that would render it non-stolen (creative samples?), but if I kept the loop point in the spot it theoretically would've been to create the original result, it is stolen.
