With an unforseen hardware failure compromising years worth of on/off work, the task of rebuilding my
personal Rome is not one that I wanted to undertake so soon. But over time, much of it owing to revising
previous formats of orientation and design within the some 4,000 static webpages which constituted it at
the end, I found myself pidgeonholed into the 'playing along' with the frameworks I'd implemented
improvisationally; fortunately I had made these resources work and was decently successful at finding
the utility in the situations which had me appraising the justifiability of folders filled with near-
redundant pages. The worst example of redundancy and overall irrelevance and waste was the signal chain
"ring" which was bastardized from the original "raindrop-in-puddle" ripple concept sometime between hatching
the idea and designing it (I'd ended up beginning from the outside and moving in with each stop-motion
slide); this wasn't the only performative manner in cycling through information - I'd used automatic
redirecting and dedicated directories for the sequences slides to flip through chronological release
pages for my long dormant label, as well as a clever and practical (yet unconsidered and later abandoned)
means of jumping between floppy (or any drive for that manner) disk volumes. A little something to give
the illusion of dynamics boosts the user experience quite a bit - I was a heavy utilizer of access keys,
a utility I grotesquely abused at a point and later became less enthusiastic about when I'd realized that
these were tethered to a singular web browser (Google Chrome) and this tedious precaution was largely
unbeneficial\outright unreapable on legacy browsers.


Update:
It is the end of March and the original site has been reaccessibilized; the game plan has shifted from the
necessitous from-scratch revision to the continued leveraging of all the "work" that has been put in over
the course of years. Without detouring to minimize the quantifiability of the body as significant (while
it does a generally poor job of being wholesalely useful on account of the manual nature of edits / 
ammendments / corrections, it does symbolize order amid an ecosystem of quickly exacerbated
obscurity), I must say that the turnout of the experience was constructive and desirable. Nothing was lost,
and this is fortunate - it demonstrated the significance of maintaining healthy systems and being vigilant
in the archival of noteworthy articles, might they be online resources or locally stored files - there
is no certainty concerning their future existence unless direct action is taken. Dramatic post-resolution
projection aside, the motions going forward will continue to develop/sculpt the decentralized maze of
file directories into something which 'feels' ergonomic/structured (circuitous even). Taking inspiration
from the highway system and the transit between locations, I've decided to invest in the exploration of
graphical parallel sequencing of preparational/executive tasks and representing such with progress bars.
Those with advantage of retrospective or rather those who understand keenly the development of applications
(where I do not) may see this entry in the log of strives as promising to the curation of an application-like
interface. At the moment, the image of what will appear on these signs is ill-defined.
