With the previous and long lasting server configuration recently biting the dust (hard), and my continuation of development divergent from the initial effort beginning in defiance of logic (if the hard drive imaging effort is unsuccessful then the headway I've made in the meantime will offer a little comfort from the massive bummer that it would be), it is an opportune time to try new things, get more esoteric and learn things deeper than the initial trajectory would've suggested. Something I'd wanted to do since late 2022 was host web files on removable media - floppy disks being an ideal owing to their relative solidness in the handling domain - their small capacity posing a welcome challenge to keep things light and, if not, at least segregated additionally. After my first stride toward incorporating this "physical media" into the mold failed and I'd essentially blocked off a large section of a site I'd been working on (by adhering to the necessary disk separation syntax and redirect screens / directories and making the second volume quite obscure by requiring direct action of the user (me) to facilitate the access to these files (a screen would pop up telling you there was a 15 second timer going and that in that window of time you needed to have the desired disk in Drive A: by its conclusion)), I'd somewhat sworn off subsequent attempts to try this at least under the then-current effort's banner. I'd regarded that soft-loss of labored materials the big tragic event up until a week ago - this most recent deterioration truly Beetlejuician by comparison. Anyhoo, as mistakes happen and I've outlined my ethos pertaining to the recent sequences, I'll get to what the game plan is - to get working the BBS-esque physical disk web data storage thing.
