Idea for spontaneous element addition; I'm actively listening back to demo mp3s organized in a webpage and as I hear various progressions happening, I have the presence of mind briefly to know what I wish to hear overlaid - some of what I wish to hear are already things I've prepared into loopable format. It would be quite convenient to be able to, during monitoring of the 'live' sequence and sample interaction recreating the printed soundscape, type into a command prompt something akin to; imp_"pitchshifter004"_meas:032_reps:004. All the necessary variables of behavior can be specified and the system (the custom DAW) will be able to interpret these commands and update the sequences in real time without hiccups; if a command is entered too late, the imposed MIDI note will be ignored and the following will be upheld. There is a voice suggesting going the route of developing tools to be used on top of Reaper as it is certainly a good candidate for third party additions. The practicality of this is much higher than that of reengineering an all-things-considered unobjectionable interface in Reaper. Another sampler-related idea is to borrow clabretro's idea of simulating broadcast scheduling by feeding a dissemination device a bunch of material and connecting it to recievers around your house; this would, depending on the material inputted, be a great way to reclaim an element of unpredictability and chance in curating / seeking out samples.
