If you were to ask anyone in the loop what the most ubiquitously resourceful website in the world is today (and for the past 15 years for that matter), their answer would ensurably be 'YouTube.com', even though "dot com" would be omitted as these formalities (like tucking in one's shirt) have depreciated along the ranks of considerations of collective individuals (these are replaced with empathetic and virtuous appearance paranoia). For musical, entertaining and political (divisive) contents as well as those belonging to any other imaginable point of justification, YouTube is the domain where these video format assets claim residence. The provided examples of materials are what constitute the majority of my viewership and hence are what I undertake the duty of encasing in intangible shortcut-laden machine code tethered to a satellite web domain and server located within the bounds of my proprietary jurisdiction. Obnoxious idiotspeak aside, I intend to spend the rest of the 2020's scraping from the existing internet content and materials that interest me in some way. With interests in a swathe of areas, from archiving for nostalgia sake, practical purposes and documenting societal phenomenon, I'll no doubt fill up many hard drives before the decade is through. The expectation is for the internet to eventually be ruined, and when that day comes, I'll have a bulb of a hopefully substantial quantity of its former leaves. With those leaves I'll be able to feign in a sense the feeling of being connected; I'll be able to go through and read and experience everything I wasn't able to process at the time, and potentially by the end of the 2030s I'll be satisfied. Arguments have been made against living in the past, and what I've described is an acutely regressive or past-concerned, conservative plan. I do believe that the past outweighs the present in nearly all departments - in aesthetics, in morals, in life, in authenticity, in substance. To abstain from documenting the 'past' is to abstain from recordkeeping, and without records you are totally at the mercy of external forces. Without an exceptionally confrontational attitude, you will be divided and marginalized and wish you had taken more notes because the articles of engagement are now not in your possession, swindled from you by yourself for playing into a truly weightless self-deprivation game of appearing unflappable, "living light" and being care-free, prospectless but pretending to have many.
